The A’s have traded Marco Scutaro to the Blue Jays for minor league right handers Graham Godfrey and Kristian Bell. Godfrey pitched in rookie ball last season and he started 21 games and finished with a 6-7 record with a 3.98 ERA and a 1.52 WHIP. He worked 110.2 innings and he allowed 132 hits, walked 36 batters and whiffed 74. Bell pitched in 22 games (11 starts) in single-A ball last season and he was 3-7 with a 5.33 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP. He worked 77.2 innings and he allowed 89 hits, walked 24 batters and whiffed 46. The A’s will now depend on Donnie Murphy to take over Scutaro’s job as the utility infielder and he will be a dropoff offensively and defensively….but he’s cheaper.
