The A’s have claimed Wes Bankston off waivers from the Royals. The 24-year old was once one of the brighest prospects in the Devil Rays farm system but a couple of down years have hurt his status. The A’s will give Bankston a fresh start and see what he can do. Bankston played in 104 games last season in AAA and he was 93 for 390 (.238 avg, .700 OPS) with 46 runs scored, 15 homers and 59 RBIs. This was a nice low risk move by Billy Beane.

I watch Bankston play with the Charleston Riverdogs and sure hated to see him go. I hate to see what is happening to him now. He was and still is in my opinion and good player.
