The A’s have placed righty starter Rich Harden on the 15-day disabled list with a strained back muscle. Harden has started 2 games this season for the A’s and he is 1-0 with a 0.82 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP. In 11 innings so far this season, Harden has only allowed 7 hits while whiffing 15 batters. Lefty Lenny DiNardo will take over Harden’s spot in the rotation until he is ready to return. DiNardo has pitched in 3 games (1 start) for the A’s this season and he is 1-0 with a 6.75 ERA and a 2.06 WHIP. Righty reliever Joey Devine was recalled from the minors to take Harden’s roster spot and he has looked good so far. Devine has pitched in 2 games for the A’s this season and he is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA and a 2.00 WHIP.

Ugh. Just stay healthy. Harden is always finding new ways to get hurt. He looked great in his first two starts of the season, and that was a plus for my fantasy team, but now it seems like it’s another short season for a guy we’ve been waiting to put a full campaign together for years now.
