The Oakland A’s have re-signed Bartolo Colon
The A’s have re-signed 39-year old righty starting pitcher Bartolo Colon to a 1-year, $3 million dollar deal plus incentives. This is a surprise to me as Colon still has five games to serve on his 50-game suspension for testing positive for testosterone. Colon pitched in 24 games (all starts) for the A’s last year and he was 10-9 with a 3.43 ERA and a 1.21 WHIP. Colon has now pitched in 381 games (375 starts) in his first 15 years in the majors and he is 171-122 with a 4.05 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. It will be interesting to see how effective Colon will be in 2013, if he’s clean.
