The A’s have signed 34-year old righty starter/reliever Brian Gordon to a minor league deal. Gordon pitched in South Korea last year. Gordon last pitched in the majors in 2011 for the Yankees. He started 2 games for the Yankees in 2011 and he was 0-1 with a 5.23 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP. Gordon has now pitched in 5 games (2 starts) in his first two years in the majors and he is 0-1 with a 4.40 ERA and a 1.33 WHIP. Gordon will have to likely start the 2013 in the minors and work his way back to the show.

The A’s have signed 27-year old lefty reliever Frank Gailey to a minor league deal. Gailey pitched in 39 games (3 starts) in A+AA+AAA-ball last year and he was 5-3 with 1 save, a 3.51 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP. He has now pitched in 214 games (4 starts) in his first six years in the minors and he is 28-18 with 6 saves, a 2.63 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP. Gailey will likely start the 2013 season in AAA-ball for the A’s.
