The A’s have signed 29-year old lefty reliever Pedro Viola to a minor league deal.  Viola pitched in 36 games (0 starts) in AA+AAA-ball for the Orioles last year and he was 0-2 with 4 saves, a 4.75 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP.  He last pitched in the majors in 2011 with the Orioles.  Viola has now pitched in 15 games (0 starts) in his first three years in the majors and he is 0-0 with a 7.50 ERA and a 1.67 WHIP.  He will be a big time longshot to win a spot in the A’s pen this spring.
