The A’s have signed 37-year old lefty reliever Hideki Okajima to a minor league deal.  He pitched in 56 games (0 starts) in Japan last year and he was 0-2 with 9 saves, a 0.94 ERA and a 0.84 WHIP.  He last pitched in the majors back in 2011 with the Boston Red Sox.  Okajima has now pitched in 261 games (0 starts) in his first five years in the majors and he is 17-8 with 6 saves, a 3.11 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP.  Okajima is going to be a long shot this spring to make the A’s bullpen.
