The A’s are hoping that 27-year old righty swinging Josh Donaldson is ready to take over full-time at the hot corner in 2013.  He played in 75 games for the A’s last year and he was 66 of 274 (.241 avg, .687 OPS) with 34 runs scored, 9 homers, 33 RBIs and 4 stolen bases.  Donaldson played in 71 games (all starts) at 3B for the A’s last year and he made 12 errors there while showing out of this world range.  Donaldson has now played in 89 games in his first two years in the majors and he is 71 of 306 (.232 avg, .666 OPS) with 35 runs scored, 10 homers, 37 RBIs and 4 stolen bases.  29-year old righty swinging Adam Rosales’ versatility could help him win a backup spot on the A’s this spring.  He played in 3 games (1 start) at 3B for the A’s last year and he didn’t make any errors while showing out of this world range there.  28-year old righty swinging Scott Sizemore missed all of last year due to injury, but he started quite a few games at 3B for the A’s in 2011.  26-year old lefty swinging Eric Sogard is also in line to compete for a bench job this spring.  Sogard played in 37 games for the A’s last year and he was 17 of 102 (.167 avg, .480 OPS) with 8 runs scored, 2 homers, 7 RBIs and 2 stolen bases.  He played in 14 games (12 starts) at 3B for the A’s last year and he had 2 errors while showing outstanding range there.  Sogard has now played in 68 games in his first three years in the majors and he is 34 of 179 (.190 avg, .539 OPS) with 15 runs scored, 4 homers, 11 RBIs and 2 stolen bases.
