30-year old lefty swinging outfielder Seth Smith will likely start at DH against righty starting pitchers in 2013.  He played in 125 games for the A’s last year and he was 92 of 383 (.240 avg, .754 OPS) with 55 runs scored, 14 homers, 52 RBIs and 2 stolen bases.  Smith has now played in 612 games in his first six years in the majors and he is 446 of 1,668 (.267 avg, .815 OPS) with 255 runs scored, 65 homers, 233 RBIs and 19 stolen bases.  29-year old righty swinging Chris Young and 33-year old switch-hitting Coco Crisp could get some P.T. at DH against left-handed pitchers.
