The Oakland A’s have activated 24-year old lefty starting pitcher Sean Manaea from the D.L. He has pitched in 9 games (all starts) so far this year and he is 2-4 with a 6.02 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP. Manaea has given up 55 hits (8 homers) and 16 walks while whiffing 40 batters in his first 49 1/3 innings this year. The A’s hope that he is better for them this time around. The A’s have sent 24-year old switch-hitting 2B/OF Arismendy Alcantara to AAA to make room on the roster for Manaea. Alcantara played in 3 games for the A’s in his first stint with the team and he was 2 for 8 (.250 avg, .500 OPS) with 2 stolen bases. He will probably be back in the near future for the A’s.
