Griffin off the roster for the N.L.D.S. Griffin pitched in 32 games (all starts) for the A’s this year and he was 14-10 with a 3.83 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. Griffin gave up 171 hits (a major league leading 36 homers) and he walked 54 batters while whiffing 171 of them this year. Griffin has now pitched in 47 games (all starts) for the A’s in his first two years with the team and he is 21-11 with a 3.60 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. This was a little bit of a surprise.

joelapinski <![CDATA[Alberto Callaspo has played pretty decent for the Oakland A’s]]> http://oakland.bloglockers.com/athletics/?p=990 2013-09-26T17:37:26Z 2013-09-26T17:37:26Z 30-year old switch-hitting 2B/3B Alberto Callaspo has been a solid addition for the A’s. He came over in a deal with the Angels for infielder Grant Green (who is playing pretty well for them also). Callaspo has played in 47 games for the A’s so far this year and he is 40 for 149 (.268 avg, .741 OPS) with 18 runs scored, 4 homers and 19 RBIs. Callaspo has now played in 133 games overall for the A’s and Angels in which he is 114 of 443 (.257 avg, .695 OPS) with 50 run scored, 9 homers and 55 RBIs. Callaspo’s versatility in the field and his switch hitting has made him a nice asset for the A’s.
