Klay Thompson has really stepped up for the Golden State Warriors

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General, Steppin Up by alleyoop on Wednesday 16 January 2013 at 11:04 am

22-year old shooting guard Klay Thompson has really played well for the Warriors so far this year. He has played in 36 games (all starts) for the Warriors last year and he averaged 35.2 minutes, 15.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. Thompson is shooting 40.4% from the floor, 38.6% from the three point line and 87.5% from the free throw line so far this year. Thompson is going to be one of the core players for the Warriors for a long, long time.

David Lee continues to be one of the more underrated players for the Golden State Warriors

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General, Steppin Up by alleyoop on Wednesday 2 January 2013 at 7:20 pm

When NBA “experts” talk about the great power forwards in the NBA, 29-year old David Lee’s name rarely comes up. But, if the Warriors keep winning, that is likely to change soon. Lee has played in 31 games (all starts) for the Warriors so far this year and he is averaging 37.6 minutes, 20.1 points, 11.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Lee is shooting a very impressive 53.7% from the floor and 81.6% from the free throw line so far this year. Lee turned in a pretty rock solid month of December. He played in 16 games (all starts) last month for the Warriors and he averaged 37.9 minutes, 22.6 points, 11.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game. Lee already has 19 double/doubles in his first 31 games so far this year, which is pretty darn impressive.

The Golden State Warriors are getting decent work overall out of the bench so far in 2012-13

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General, Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 11 December 2012 at 10:15 am

The Warriors are getting pretty decent work out of the bench overall so far this year. SF/PF Carl Landry has been excellent off the bench so far this year for the Warriors. He is averaging 26.2 minutes, 13.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. Landry can handle playing either forward slot, which really helps the Warriors off the bench. Jarrett Jack can handle playing both guard spots, and he is playing well this year. He is averaging 25.9 minutes, 10.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.6 assists per game so far this year. The Warriors hope that Landry and Jack keep up the good work because the rest of the bench has been below par so far this year. Rookie forward Draymond Green is averaging 13.3 minutes, 2.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game so far this year, but he is only shooting 28.2% from the floor and that is just not going to get the job done. SG/PG Charles Jenkins has been buried on the bench so far this year after playing pretty well as a rookie last year. Jenkins is averaging 5.5 minutes, 2.5 points, 0.6 rebounds and 0.4 assists per game. Center Andris Biedrins is finally starting to get to play a little bit this year, but he has been awful so far. He is averaging 8.9 minutes, 0.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game so far this year.

Jarrett Jack has been giving the Golden State Warriors nice production off the bench so far in 2012-13

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General, Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 4 December 2012 at 12:35 pm

29-year old combo guard Jarrett Jack has been outstanding off the bench for the Warriors so far this year. He has played in 17 games (0 starts) for the Warriors so far this year and he is averaging 25.2 minutes, 10.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. Jack has been a very efficient offensive player for the Warriors. He is shooting 48.5% from the floor, 37.5% from three point range and 86.7% from the free throw line so far in 2012-13. Jack is very valuable to the Warriors as he can handle playing either guard spot, giving them versatility in the matchups on the court and allowing them to monitor Stephen Curry’s minutes if need be.

Stephen Curry is off to a great start for the Golden State Warriors in 2012-13

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General, Steppin Up by alleyoop on Friday 23 November 2012 at 6:55 pm

24-year old point guard Stephen Curry is off to a good start for the Warriors this year. He has played in 12 games (all starts) for the Warriors so far this year and he is averaging 36.6 minutes, 19.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.6 steals per game. Curry is a little off on his shooting this year as he is only hitting 41.7% from the floor and 35.1% from three point range so far this year. Curry is still shooting 89.1% from the free throw line and I look for his other shooting % to come up as the year goes on.

Carl Landry has been electric off the bench for the Golden State Warriors

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General, Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 6 November 2012 at 9:19 pm

I really liked when the Warriors signed 29-year old forward Carl Landry over the summer. He has played in 4 games (0 starts) for the Warriors so far this year and he is averaging 24.8 minutes, 16.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.0 assist per game. Landry has nailed 25 of 39 (64.1%) shots from the floor so far this year, which is pretty amazing. I look for Landry to average closer to 30 minutes per game this year if he continues to play well, which he should.

Nate Robinson has been quite a find for the Golden State Warriors

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General, Steppin Up by alleyoop on Saturday 14 April 2012 at 11:32 am

27-year old SG/PG Nate Robinson has really played well for the Warriors this year. He has played in 8 games (0 starts) for the Warriors so far this April and he is averaging 23.3 minutes, 12.8 points, 1.4 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.0 steal per game. Robinson is shooting 46.6% from the floor and 45.7% from the three point line, so Robinson is clicking on all cylinders right now. Robinson has now played in 49 games (9 starts) for the Warriors overall this year and he is averaging 23.0 minutes, 10.4 points, 1.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.2 steals per game. The Warriors expect Robinson to finish the season strongly.

Jeremy Tyler is stepping up so far in April for the Golden State Warriors

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General, Rookie Reports, Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 10 April 2012 at 10:04 am

20-year old rookie center Jeremy Tyler has been installed as the starting center for the Warriors and he has responded pretty well so far. He has played in 6 games (all starts) so far this April and he is averaging 20.7 minutes, 7.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 1.5 blocked shots per game. Tyler has now played in 32 games (13 starts) overall this year and he is averaging 9.3 minutes, 3.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.3 assists per game. The Warriors are going to get a good look at Tyler the rest of this season in order to see what they have in him, but the early returns look good.

Klay Thompson is looking good for the Golden State Warriors

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General, Rookie Reports, Steppin Up by alleyoop on Wednesday 28 March 2012 at 1:04 pm

22-year old shooting guard Klay Thompson is really looking good so far this year for the Warriors. Thompson has played in 48 games (11 starts) so far this year and he is averaging 21.1 minutes, 10.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. He is also shooting 42.1% from three point range so far this year and that is pretty solid. In Thompson’s 11 starts this year, he is averaging 35.4 minutes, 18.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.1 steals per game. The Warriors dealt Monta Ellis in part to make room in the starting lineup for Klay Thompson and he has repaid them well so far for their confidence in him.

Ekpe Udoh is stepping up in March for the Golden State Warriors

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, General, Steppin Up by alleyoop on Tuesday 13 March 2012 at 9:51 am

24-year old center Ekpe Udoh has bumped Andris Biedrins from the starting lineup. He has played in 6 games (5 starts) so far in March for the Golden State Warriors and he is averaging 29.4 minutes, 9.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.8 blocked shots per game. Udoh has played in 38 games (6 starts) overall this year and he is averaging 21.8 minutes, 5.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 1.7 blocked shots per game. Udoh is likely going to remain the starting center for the rest of the season unless the Warriors deal for a veteran center this week.
